Microsoft Update ?
For some reason my auto-matic updater will update to a certain point then stopp ? For instance its been running all morn since 4:00A.M till now 7:00A.M. and its been stopped at 57% for a long time now ? Does anyone have any idea what would casue this type of action and prevent it from completing the update . I have my updsater set to download however propmt me for installation ! Any and all recomendations greatly appreciated !

What update are you trying to install?
SP3?
You could try manually downloading the updates via their KB numbers and installing them manually instead of through Microsoft Update.
If an update is taking a long time then the computer is just processing it, or the system has corrupted to a point where it cannot implement the update into the system - which could mean some software is stopping it from completing the update but that is unlikely.
You may also need to clean the cache. Start > Run > type in "cleanmgr.exe", press OK and wait for the scan to complete. Tick all the boxes except "Compress old files" and press OK twice.
You can also delete the "SoftwareDistribution" folder but that is dangerous; it could be a possibility however as this is where the updates are downloaded to.
