Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter

Hello i have a small issue. First this started by when i went to devices and printers and choice to add a device by mistake. When i saw that i cancel it which led to blue screen. After that my computer restarted by itself and asked me if i wanted to run windows normaly i choice run windows normaly. Then i loged in and said your computer has just restore from a unexpected shutdown. Later i notice that i had a troubleshoot and it said Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter has a driver problem not fixed also problem with Pnp device. I tried to go to device manager and update MCWMA but it said that didnt fix it. What should i do to fix this because im starting to get worried because this is a new computer . Some of my other question about this is what is Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter and do i need it because i can connect to wireless internet fine. Thank you for trying to help me i really appreciate it.

My operating system is Windows 7.

Hello,

You should be able to go into "Device Manager" and choose "Remove" for the device.

Reboot the system, and since the device was already installed the drivers should already be there and the device 'should' reinstall and work. :emotion-21:

I have the same problem.  When I remove the device and restart it doesn't install the drivers.  I had to reinstall my operating system previously.

When I tell it to update driver it will find a driver by says:  "Windows can't verify the publisher of this driver software" and asks "Don't install this driver software" or "Install this driver software anyway".

What should I do?

Why would my brand new windows 7 machine have a device driver for a Windows product that Windows can't verify?

Thanks

The virtual Mini Port adapt. is just that virtual and, as yet, unused. Disable it. I pulled my hair out over this one when I got my system. I hate those yellow warning signs too! Disable it and forget ti.

I too had an issue with this device. It was preventing me from uninstalling Trend Micro internet security. After 4 days of working with Trend Micro they identified this as the problem. Called Dell, Software support said it was a hardware problem. Hardware support sent me a file they said would fix it but it didn't. So, I disabled it (right click on it) and all seems to be workiing just fine. I was also able to uninstall the security software with this disabled. I'm not sure this is actually used for anything.

I have the similar question, What mistakes did I make? I followed it but it does not work, why?

I followed the advice to disable under Device Manage and had no problems since.
