Missing Files from Windows 8 Pro + Media Center



I have stupidly removed some files from my Windows 8 Pro + Media Center it works but only just, Its on a DELL Latitude10  Tablet, My problem is I have no idea which files I have removed, can anyone help me to find the missing files so I can restore my Tablet to a full working Windows 8 Pro. I am no Geek, I,m 72 but not yet lost all of the grey matter. As this is my fault you may disagree with that,

Hi Weirlane,

If any Windows or system related files were deleted then you would receive error messages on the system or system may not boot up to the operating system. Please try using most of the features on the system to check if you receive any error message or error code.

You can restore the system to factory state by following the steps from the link below.

Hi, One of my problems is I cant download certain things, Like I tried to download Google Chrome, it says it has four stages to the down load, it appears to run fine till stage 4, (downloading) then it just stops (No error messages). on th other had I keep getting the error message
(C\program Files\Setting Manager\smdm\x64\sysapcrt.d11 not designed to run on Windows) all the time when I am on the Tablet, what ever I am doing even if the item I am working on works or not.
I have tried Going to Command Prompt, Run as administrator and then run a sfc/scannow, I was told this would find any missing/damaged files and replace/repair them. It did improve things very slightly, but I still have the above problems and the whole tablet is very slow and seems to work well at some points but not at other.
I may have to resort to restore the system to factory state to resole all the problems.

Hi Weirlane,

It seems like the operating system is corrupted. You can refresh the system to check if the issue resolves. Switch ON the system and switch OFF the system 3 to 4 times when the Dell logo appears. This will make the system to go into ‘Windows 8 Advanced Startup Options’ screen. Please select Troubleshoot option and choose the REFRESH option so that it refreshes the windows operating system.
