Missing operating system

Question

Hi I just turned my laptop on and a black screen with it saying 'missing operating system' comes up and won't let me log in. I didn't do any backups so I need the operating disk. Which I'm unable to find cause I've had this laptop for a long time and misplaced it. It's a Dell Inspiron n5030 by the way. Is there anyway I can get a hold of a disk or any other suggestions to get this fixed.

jmalv93, Make sure there are no usb devices attached and restart the computer. If it doesn't work, restart the computer and press F12 at startup. Report back any error messages. Rick
