MS Publisher won't run on Win XP

I've had Micrsoft Home Publishing 2000 on my Win XP machine for about eight years and it's been running fine. I got a 2nd hard drive and started to put large programs on this. I left the OS on 1st drive (C). Everything's working except Home Publishing, which starts to load, gets to the opening screen and then just hangs - 'not responding'. So I removed it from 2nd drive (F) and put it back on C. It's doing the same thing. I removed it again from C and reinstalled it; still the same thing. What could be going on?

Yodelaehee,

When did you upgrade to IE7?  The problem you describe seems to occur with other programs after IE7 is installed.  Sometimes you can work around the problem by opening your My Documents folder (or whatever folder you use for MS Publisher projects) and double click on one of your existing projects.  Had to do this for Corel Office 10 programs after IE7 was installed.  Finally got fed up and uninstalled IE7.

I tried opening it from an existing project. Didn't work.
I don't even have IE 7.
Thanks for the suggestions though.
