My Task Manager won't start!!!
My computer's been undergoing some suspicious activities... like when I want to remove a program, it tells me I don't have the admin. right!!! Now my task manager won't come up no matter how I try to open it~ I can't do End Task or check what tasks are running~~~~ I don't know wheter it's because I accidently deleted something from my window or my admin right's been taken away by someone?? Also I deleted winlogon.exe from c:\windows because I searched online and it said that file is a virus if it's not under c:\windows\system32..................... PLEAAAAAAASE help!!!

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing, as I often find out :smileyvery-happy:--winlogon is not a virus. You need it to run Windows. There are cases where it is taken over by malware, but you can't just delete in either case. You've got to clean up the virus/malware, not just delete the essential file. Try Start, Run, type this: sfc /scannow with your xp cd handy, in case it asks for it. Note the space after sfc. That might replace the missing file. Post back if it doesn't work. The next step if it doesn't work might be a repair of Windows.
PS It does sound like you have been invaded by a virus or malware. Read the directions & postings in the the HijackThis forum for more help.
