I have a Dell 3100, with Windows XP, service pack 3. This is my third different forum in the Dell Community that I've posted  to and I really hope someone can help me. I went to the Technical Help forum first and they were unable to solve the problem and eventually referred me to the Malware forum. We did 4 pages of corresponding to try & fix this problem in the Malware forum but were not able to. I was referred to this forum. I cannot access my Java from my control panel. I receive this error "The system cannot find the registry key specified: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment\1.6.0_11." There was no malware found. We also tried to remove all versions of Java and reinstall it, but it would not let me reinstall. When I look in my programs there is no Java program there, yet when I tried to reinstall it, it said it was already installed? In the Malware forum we ran into numerous problems also with Primary User & Administrative User. I have always been both. No one shares my computer. In control panel under users it lists me as both, yet when working with the Malware forum a lot of times it said I couldn't make the necessary change because it had to be an Administrator. When I tried to log out & sign in as Administrator, there was no Administrative screen to change to? If this forum doesn't work I guess I will just have to restore the system. Thank you.
