New 700m, Dell Installed "Spyware"/Ads at Startup
I just got a 700m after I swore NEVER to purchase from Dell again (after the demise of my Inspiron 5000e). I bought it b/c it was cheap and it seemed like it would be a great compliment to my IBM Thinkpad T42 (which may be a year old, but is still WAAAAAAY better than this Inspiron).
My problem is that everytime I restart or turn on the computer, a full screen ad for something like Quickbooks or something comes up. How do I get rid of it? I went to MSCONFIG and disabled some things, but I would like to get rid of the ads and everything running in the background, completely. What exactly has Dell installed, and what is safe to remove/delete?
Another reason why I'm completely disappointed in Dell. IBM doesn't put in shameless promos like this.
Thanks!

Hey, I had that same problem, all I did was uninstall it with the install/uninstall in Control Panel
btw ain't it ironic you asked the question in three places, and got three excuses for it being there!
"It's Microsoft's fault!!" "No, no it's Your fault!!" 'No, wait Dell did it -- But we were only trying to help' Lol
