Okay..... thank you for  replying..... is anyone aware of a step-by-step, written that I can follow? I have 2 PCs and my older one is the one I am attempting to restore.

Hmmm... The drivers and utilities should have the drivers on it. First... make sure that the first driver you installed was the chipset driver, because that is crucial. Then, are you looking for the ethernet driver, or just a network driver, because the proper driver may not have ETHERNET in it. Good Luck~Justin~

Chipset drivers need to be installed first. They and your other updated drivers are available Dell download page if you can't find them on the disks. http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&cs=19&s=dhs You have to know which ethernet card you have. Find out with Belarc advisor. http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html or use Dell's "current configuration" utility at your support page.

How do I install the chipset driver first? I'll start over and do this again, I am just unsure how.... I have all discs needed.

I'm sorry I can't, Dell's site has been getting harder and harder to navigate...

I'm still unsure if you need to completely reinstall windows to fix the driver install order, so if anyone can tell me that would be good...? Anyway, after reinstalling windows, when you go to install the drivers (probably using the drivers and utilities cd) just make sure that the first one you download/install is the chipset one.

Here's the most recent chipset driver. After you install this the order of installation of the other drivers is not that important.

This simulated install may help you; run it a few times before doing your re-installation.
