No signal from CATV input

Question

Everything else is working fine but I cannot get a signal from the CATV input. Only static. I know there is a signal there. It works fine plugged directly into my TV. I've checked the settings in the MC interface. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I figured it out myself. When I first went through the MY TV set up (choosing an input, cable provider, etc.) I didn't have the cable connected. You need to have the cable connected BEFORE going through the set up. Hope this helps somebody else.

As someone who has had various brands of personal computers (Apple, HP, Fujistu, eMachines) over the past 12 years Dell's instructions and documentation really leave something to be desired. The Media Center PC user's guide assumes everything works fine. It has no troubleshooting section. Very weak.
