No sound after installing VISTA

Hi you’ll this is my first time posting here though I do browse here often, I just installed vista over XP Media center on a different partition, everything looks okay and quiet impressed with the looks and speed. The only problem is with the sound. I have downloaded the preferred driver on the dell website for vista but I didn’t hear thing though the driver seems to be working. I searched the web and all but nothing seem to fix my problem. Appreciate if any one had experience similar issue on XPS 600/400 systems and know how to fix

Thanks

I had distorted sound when I first installed Vista.  I downloaded the drivers directly from Creative's website, and all is well now....Do you have a Creative sound card?

I have an Inspiron E1505 w/ the Sound Blaster HD option - which driver do I need to get from Creative???

When I sign onto Vista now, I get some error about CTMBHA.dll --I googled it and learned it had to do with sound drivers.  My sound isn't great - when I try to play mp3, occassionally I'll get some weird sounds that come out (slow down, etc)

How can I fix this?

Soccer, if you go creative website there is an option that scans your system and recommends which driver you need to install

The Inspiron 6400/E1505 uses the Sigmatel sound card.  The Soundblaster option is a software upgrade.  You need to load the Sigmatel drivers, and Dell has Vista drivers available for download.
