norton internet security with antivirus

my friend got a dell inspiron 8600 last week and he has norton systemworks 2004. the 8600 came with antivirus already installed free for 3 months. I can't uninstall it to install sw2004 there is no uninstall in the add/remove section. anyone got a idea.
