...I just ran WinDoctor, and it was unable to fix any of the problems.

Thanks

lacy_jean,

It is not likely that anyone will be able to provide assistance. Nearly all the participants in this conference recommend uninstalling Norton SystemWorks when using Windows XP as it adds nothing. Also there are few here who endorse the use of registry cleaners/checkers. If you are not experiencing operating difficulties which might be attibuted to registry errors the most wortwhile action is to simply ignore the error messages. If you are experiencing operating difficulties which might be caused by registry errors and you have been unable to repair those errors the best course of action is a clean reinstallation of Windows XP.

Just a question. After you run Norton why don't you let it fix the problems. I've used it for four years. I always let it fix the problems it finds.

If the errors are related to Microsoft NET\Framework version 2 and/or Windows Defender you need to tell Norton to ignore them. That is the recommendation from Symantec

Even Symantec does not recommend System Works with Win XP. If you must use Norton, upgrade to Security Suite which is for XP & does not include WinDoctor. The changes System Works/Win Doctor make to the Registry can cause havoc. Don't do it. Uninstall  System Works and just use the Antivirus program.
