oleacc.dll question

When I tried downloading turbo tax it said my oleacc.dll was missing.

I have it showing up in my System file and also in my System32 file.  Is it supposed to be in both of them or just one.  Or maybe neither??  I'm using Win98 first edition.

Hi Merry:

Turbotax has a page that addresses that issue here:

Thanks Joe .. but it was a no-go.  Followed the instructions .. then went to install the program and got the error message.

"The oleacc.dll file cannot start.  Check the file to determine the problem"

You might want to check this out for next year. It's all done over the web and is free for snail mail and reasonable for e-file. I've used it for 4 years and haven't had any problems with it. You could also do a test run with your 2004 figures and see how it compared to Turbo Tax:

Joe I got it fixed.  Appearently the copy I had was corrupt or I had an updated version(who knows).  Had to go to add/remove programs and I take out my "accesibility components" then I reinstalled them from my 98 CD and that did the trick.

Already did the taxes on my daughters PC with Win ME yesterday.  Only because I couldn't download it onto my dell with win 98.  But shes moving and taking her PC so I needed the info for future use on my PC.  Searched all day and finally found a fix.  Nolw I'll have to write it down so I won't forget how to do it.  LOL  Also got my Earthlink installed so I can get to my webpages again, so I can post my sigs.

Yeah .. I'm a happy camper.

Thanks for your time and help my friend.

Merry
