only part of a readprocessmemory or writeprocessmemory request was completed
any program i try to open; i get the following error prompt
"only part of a readprocessmemory or writeprocessmemory request was completed"
do i have a virus or hard drive problem ? any help appreciated

According to Microsoft knowledge base article 810288 it is caused by smart display on systems that do not have service pack 1 installed on windows XP. Try downloading and installing XP service pack 1.

I have fixed my problem by running disk check utility.
