OPERATING SYSTEM

HELLO,  I HAD A FATAL CRASH AND HAD TO USE A FRIENDS WIDOWS XP HOME SYSTEM TO GET BACK UP & RUNNING, (SYSTEM CAME W/ WINDOWS MEDIA) FINALLY WAS ABLE TO BUY NEW MEDIA OPERATING SYSTEM AND WORKS AS IT DID W/ I BOUGHT PC NEW!!
HERE IS THE PROBLEM I NOW HAVE 2 OPERATING SYSTEMS ON MY PC...I HAVE BEEN TOLD ONLY WAY TO FIX THAT IS TO REDO MEDIA AND DELETE ALL PARTITIONS OUT WHEN I GET TO THE AREA WERE IT ASKS WERE TO DOWNLOAD OPERATING SYSTEM TOO? IS THIS CORRECT THERE IS NOW WAY TO GO IN AND JUST DELETE OUT THE WINDOWS XP HOME I HAD TO USE TEMP WITHOUT HAVING TO GO ALL THRU DOWNLOAD THE MEDIA OPERATING SYSTEM?
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

hi,

i'm not sure if you deleted the previous OS that was installed in your computer when you installed win xp media center edition. when Installing windows you actually have an option not to repair. That way you will be asked to delete all partitions first and then on the only 1 large unpartitioned space left, you can install the OS. try to refer to this link below and scroll down....

basically all windows xp would just have the same graphical user interface.

i still have 2 operating systems on pc windows xp home prof. and one i want to keep windows xp media i want to totally delete home prof. so it doesnt exists do i need to reformat again and delete all partions and star from scratch?

dude if you need to delete that operating system you need to delete your partition and reformat totally your hard drive then thats the time that you will be performing the installation  :smileyvery-happy:
