Sounds like a possible infection of some sort.

Click on the link, and choose "run".

I didn't run this particular registry edit,

but I've done others on this site, and all

I did was choose "run", and restared the PC

and the reg edit took affect.

Well, done some more digging and found this link

it does solve the "compressed zip folder issue, but only that.There is a notepad file in my c:\documents and settings\user name\send to folder with some of these missing options there, but its not working for some reason.But Im not done yet, maybe this link might be some use to others in the same boat,thanks again,Techdunce:smileyhappy:

Well, happy to say I figured it out. The link provided in my last post was the clue. In my c:\documents and settings\user name\sendto folder as mentioned earlier, there was a folder named "desktop" and in that folder there is text relating to compressed zip folder\mail recipient\create desktop shortcut, so I followed the same instructions from the link,substituting the file name (to be saved) for each item, example:

for mail recipient i opened notepad, clicked file\save as, and pasted "Mail Recipient.MAPIMail" (without quotes) into the "file name" box, and repeated this for each option in turn.I did get a "windows has to close" error window at one point but restarted and carried on.All`s well now,and all my original right click options are back, so just like to say thanks to those who offered assistance,your efforts are appreciated, and hopefully this might help others with the same issue.Techdunce:smileyhappy:

Yep, it is a good feeling, still dont know why the options vanished in the first place, but at least I know how to get them back,and as an after thought I made a small folder with the "titled" notepads just in case I need to restore  them (quicker) again,thanks again Ed, Techdunce:smileyhappy:
