Outlook Express 6 Tool Bar Questions

Try unlocking your tool bar from options/tools.  Then relock it.  You might consider downloading IE7.  It is faster and more convenient.  It is also possible that your Google tool bar is causing the problem.  Personally, I see no need for an ad supported tool bar  and would suggest deleting the Google Bar from Control Panel/Add and Remove programs.  IE spell is a trouble free and useful small program but the ubiquitous Google Bar is not.

Personally, I see no need for an ad supported tool bar  and would suggest deleting the Google Bar from Control Panel/Add and Remove programs. At the time I first installed it, which was a long time ago on one PC, it did the job of preventing Pop-Ups, Pop-Unders. That's the only reason I have it.  I have just uninstalled it and will see how the PC handles the Pop-ups.  My Define and ieSpell icons still do not work though. I do see them listed in the right click drop down menu?

Never had a problem with the Google Tool-bar.  For some reason on this second new PC the iSpell checker and the Encarter Define Icons on the Tool-bar are grayed out and don't work.  Was wondering if they are tied in with another of my installed programs?  I did remove and reinstalled MS Word and MS Works hoping that it would correct this issue but it didn't.

 

These two programs are vintage Year 2000 and the O.S. they are on are XP Pro.  Any other suggestions ??? Thanks................................

I have used IE spell on computers for 4 years.  It always works.  In your tools options, it should be available in the drop down menu.  It is independent of Word.  Since IE spell is an add on, possibly you have a security setting blocking it.  Originally, it was listed on the tool bar as IE spell.  It is now listed as abc (check mark)  It only works on web pages on my computer.  Are you asking about this program or the built in Outlook Express spell check?  There are spelling programs available for Outlook Express if you do not have Word or have not turned on Word spell check.
