outlook express 6
I recently accidentally deleted the address book option from windows start up. when I realized my error I put it back on my system, but outlook won't open. Computer said "outlook express could not be started because MSOE.DLL could not be loaded" Is there anyway to replace the address book without reloading the software from my original dell disk, which would delete all my saved emails?

If you have upgraded the version of Internet Explorer which came with your operating system you can replace OE. Go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall Microsoft Outlook Express 6. Then go back to Add/Remove Programs, select Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 and Internet Tools and when you click to remove it select "Add a component" from the context menu, then select Outlook Express to reinstall. This will not disturb your emails, but should you wish to safeguard them, copy them to removable media. In the event an unexpected problem arises, you can import tham back into OE as described here.

I followed your instructions, but it says "oe Q823353 update" "there was an error in trying to uninstall this patch". please advise.

From this page the following is taken:
"Removal Information
To remove this update, use the Add or Remove Programs tool (or the Add/Remove Programs tool) in Control Panel. Click Outlook Express Q823353, and then click Change/Remove (or click Add/Remove)."

Hi,
Hope I'm not bothering you............I just don't know where to look. I have a new Dell 4600 and 'OutLookExpress' won't let me receive attachments in my mail. HELP?

It's always better when you have a new question to start a new thread rather than posting a reply to an existing thread. Otherwise you take the chance that no one will see your question. In order to allow Outlook Express to give you access to attachments, open Outlook Express and go to Tools > Options. Click on the Security tab an uncheck the box next to "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus". Just make sure that you always have antivirus software runnning with up to date virus definitions if you do this.
