Outlook Express deposits mail into deleted folder

Yesterday and today, certain emails(which I've been receiving for years) are being deposited in the deleted items folder instead of the inbox.  The sender is in my address book. I am not running a spam blocker.  Any suggestions?

Is the inbox full? Try creating a new folder and move all emails in the inbox to there, or create a folder in Windows Explorer and move them to there.

Thanks for your reply! No, the inbox is not full.  I am getting other mail in the inbox. I sell on ebay and some of my ebay mail goes to the deleted items folder, some arrives in the inbox.  I tried to set up a "rule" for all ebay mail to be deposited in the inbox BUT the "rules" only allow mail to be put in a folder not the inbox.  Besides which, the ebay addresses are in my address book and should be considered  as welcome emails.

Puzzling... I had a similar problem with Ebay mail but in Outlook and using Zone Alarm - it was identified as Spam if posted via Ebay.

I suspect that it was because it fell into the category of "mail not addressed to you" in the rules section. What I think happened was that ZA and/or Outlook saw the Ebay name and did not associate it with my email address.

I assume that this rule overrode the rule that said, "if the word 'ebay' is in the subject, move to the Ebay folder."

All I can suggest is another review of the Rules to see if any conflict.
