Padlocked file

I'm using a Dell Optiplex with Windows 7 Pro installed. One of my User files has a "padlock" on it. Why? And how do I remove it?

Many thanks!

Hi dmschalk,

The pad lock symbol indicates that the file is protected.

Please follow the steps provided below to remove the symbol:
1. Right click the file and click "Properties"
2. Click the “Security” tab.
3. Click “Advanced.”
4. Click “Change Permissions.”
5. Check both boxes to “Include inheritable permissions”, and to “Replace all child object permissions.”
6.  Click “Apply” then click “Yes.”
