If you're installing on 2 different drives, You only need to create one active fat 32 partition on C and an inactive primary on D and install W98SE on C and direct XP to install on D. It will be the same as installing on one drive with 2 partitions.

Hi Fredha,
I just read your comment...I have 2 hard dreives C: and D: C: as Master with Win/XP and now I want to have win98SE in D:. How can I do it with option on boot that I can select what OS I want?
What does that mean "...creat one active...and inactive primary..." as in your post...
Thanks

Well i know i haven't posted for a while, but any way, the partitioning worked, and let me tell you i am not going back, this is how my system is staying. Windows 98se part. with windows xp pro rules.
Btw i have a question,
my bro wants to partition his now, but the computer store where he got his from said he can't because he has 1 gig of ram and it won't work with windows 98. I disagree, i thought windows 98 would only use 512mb of ram at the most if you have more than 512 mb, i have 640 and have 98 runs fine.
