Possible to reinstall system bios?

Hi. I have the inspiron e1505/6400 with windows vista home premium. Is it possible to reinstall my systems bios, because I cannot find a download here or on my cd that came with my computer? Thanks Mitchell

Huh?? Reinstall BIOS? Exactly what are you trying to do and why?

Do you mean reinstall Vista? Or reset the hard drive to the way Dell shipped it?

You can reset BIOS to factory defaults, but the exact procedure depends on your model PC so you'll have to check the user guide.

BIOS updates, if any, are available on the Drivers&Download page for this model, but let's figure out what you're trying to do before flashing a new version of BIOS.

sorry for not being clear. From attempting to install other os's and other things, i have accumulated many boot loaders on my system. Since im not sure how to actually uninstall them, ive just been installing the vista boot loader from the vista cd over them. I have about 10 boot loaders installed now and its greatly effecting my systems performance, so ide like to just reset it all to factory. I purchased my system on the day dell started selling them with vista, which i believe was january 27th, if that helps at all. Thanks- Mitchell

First thing is to back up all your personal files to external media (CD or DVD). Assuming you haven't damaged the partition, reboot and tap F8 before the OS starts to load until you see the Advanced Options Window.
1 Press Down Arrow key to select Repair Your Computer and press the Enter. The System Recovery Options window appears.
2 Select your language and click Next.
3 Log in as a user with administrative rights and click OK.
4 Click Dell Factory Image Restore. The Dell Factory Image Restore window appears.
5 Click Next.
6 Check Yes, reformat hard drive and restore system software to factory condition.
7 Click Next. The factory software image is now written to your hard drive.
8 Click Finish to restart the computer.

If this works, don't forget to go to MS update site and download any updates and fixes for Vista again.

Since you've installed lots of boot loaders, I don't know if you'll still have access to the Image Restore features. If not, repost this question on the Vista forum for some additional help, here:
