Problem Re-installing Windows XP

Question

I have reinstalled XP on the Dimension 2400. I then reinstalled all drivers and software and reconnected to the internet.   However after I go to windows update and download all the patches and updates for Service Pack 1 and then reboot I get fatal errors messages and can only reboot windows in safe mode.   Can anyone help as this is driving me mad!

What is the size of the disk partition onto which you are installing Windows XP? (If you have partitioned, that is.)

On the reinstallation, did you disconnect all external devices? If not you blasted the registry before you got started. Message Edited by Pterminiator on 11-16-2005 08:38 AM
