Problem with keyboard

My laptop keyboard is producing strange results, the alphabet looks like this:

 A B C D E F G H 5 1 2 3 0 N 6 * Q R S T 4 V W X Y Z

Has anyone any ideas as to the fault and how to cure the problem

Tony Watson,

Thank you for using Dell's Community Forum.

Try toggling off the Num lock (number lock) by pressing FN and Num lock.

Hi DEL-Correy

Thanks for your reply but there is no number lock on my laptop, however oddly enough if I keep the key FN pressed, the problem goes away. If I relaese the key it is still there.

Are we getting any nearer?

On the Latitude C series keyboard, the key is lablelled "Num Lk/Scroll Lk", and is the fifth key from the right in the topmost (short) row.
