For the last several years, dell has pasted the product key on the side of the tower for desktops and on the bottom of laptops.

All,
The information posted by Steve is correct for the Operating System product key.
Product keys are not something that should be posted on a public forum, and if any product keys are posted on the Dell Community Forum, that post will be deleted, and that user will be issued an official warning.
I am sorry if that sounds harsh, but I do not want anyone making a mistake while trying to be helpful.
