Ran into a problem while formatting hard-drive
I followed the instructions on Dell's website on how to format your hd ,but when I get into dos mode and type "extract ebd.cab format.com /l c:" it says "cannot extract ebd.cab",then I type C: to get into c:,and type "format c:" and it says "unknown command or invalid".
Any help will be much appreciated.

To format the hard drive you need an emergency boot diskette. You can create one by going to Start|Settings|Control Panel|Add/Remove Programs|Startup Disk tab or download one from here.
When you boot to a DOS prompt with the diskette do not change drives to C:. At the prompt type format c: and .
