Recovery CD or Partitioned Harddrive?

Question

Hi, i have purchased an insprion 1525 (as yet still waiting for it to be delivered!) and was just wondering do dell give you a proper recovery cd or is it a partitioned hard drive that you have to creat your own recovery cds from ? (apology in advance if i have posted in the wrong section of the forum being a newbie and all!)

Is it possible to create a recovery disk from it and then remove it? , as otherwise what was the point of me upgrading the harddrive to a larger one for more space when a good proportion of that space is already being taken up by the partition which should be on a  set of master disks in the first place......sorry I'm ranting. can you purchase from dell a proper set of master disks? Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

It is a separate partiton that is already created. You do not have to create anything. Just dont delete this partition. If you do then all will be lost including the restore partition.

You get the dvd for vista. That 'make your own XP disk' was discontinued ages ago. Be sure to check all the disks to make sure you received everything. Carefully store them for future use and make an extra copy of your Activation Key.
