Question

Anyone using a registry 'tuneup' software? I downloaded Registry Booster which claims my brand new XPS 200 has 147 invalide registry entries! Should I spend the $30 bucks for the software? I do seem to get startup error messages and occational freeze ups plus my AOL calendar has never worked right on this computer. If so, my question is, why does a brand new $1400 system need add on software (at an additional expense, I might add) to make it run right???

To add to msgale's response. So called dead entries in the registry do absolutely no harm. Picture the registry as a telephone book. If you never go to that certain page then it doesn't matter what's on it (dead or otherwise). Now if some well meaning program deletes a needed value, now you have a big problem or a system that won't even start. Best thing to do to the registry is NOTHING!
