Reinstall Windows 7
I have a Dell Inspiron 537s <ADMIN NOTE:Service tag removed per privacy policy> Desktop Computer, running Windows 7 Home Premium.. I believe this machine has two O/S installed..
When starting computer, a Black Screen appears, it show two windos 7 and asks you to select one.
The fist one loads but is useless has no options to install program, they seem to install but disappear, so nothing is installed.
Second one loads and is OK installs programs and will run programs.
Now my problem is I believe the first O/S is blocking the computer from functioning..
As Administrator there are no options to Reinstall the O/S. I put the Disc in boot the computer, and Restart the computer, I should get a screen with instructions for what I want, I don't get anything, just the startup screen.
What is the Trick to Reinstalling the O/S back to new.
Thanks Ron..

This sounds like you reinstalled Windows 7 at one time and now have two copies on the hard drive.
The 537S should have came with the Dell Recovery Partition, accessed at power on by F8, that will restore the PC back to the original factory condition (all user data will be lost if not backed up). If that is still there you can use that to restore, and no Discs are needed.
If you have the Windows 7 DVD (not just a "recovery" disc) you can boot from that and reformat the hard drive and reinstall Windows 7. At PC Power up, Press F12 to access the menu to boot from a DVD drive. If you don't have the actual Dell Windows 7 disc, and you are in the US you can request a set of discs from Dell HERE

I requested the Disc's a couple of days ago.. Received them today,
The O/S looks like the one that came with the Computer, then they also sent the following, Roxio Creator,Drivers and Utilities,Application for reinstalling Cyberlink, power DVD, and Application for reinstalling Dell Webcam.
Under the F8, I see no Dell Recovery Partion. There used to be a program called Dell DataSafe installed, but is removed.. Will it help me if I get the download, and install this program back in..
I do not have a Windows 7 Full disc, just the Reinstallation DVD for Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit..
Thanks Ron..
