thacuco. If your old hard drive is toast ( ? ) , than you will have to start from scratch, loosing the Symantec Restore Utility on a new hard drive, and unless you pay big bucks to have some techo corporation to try to find the programs on your old hard drive that is busted, that to might be lost. Some of the programs installed from Dell was what we call Bloatware, and most do not want this, and it does slow the system down. Dell will not send you or have a Bloatware Cd that you can install.. Bloatware programs normally have a trial period anyway.
What other programs are you talking about ?
Dim 4400
2.6 Ghz 400 FSB
1 Gb 2100 DDR Memory
20 Gb hard drive 7,200
Windows XP Home - SP-2
Leadtek 6600 GT
48xCDRW
17 LCD ( 1703 FP )
250 watt power supply
in my specific case, i have two discs with all the reinstalation data, the first is a copy of winxp sp2 and the other is the application and driver data, inside this disc, there is detailed information about reinstalling all the system software and the drivers, also you can find reinstalation guides in support.dell.com
this is about the dell media experience... i've tried to get assistance from dell about this, i asked for a cd with the software but they just sent the powerdvd application, or a place to download it, and have no specific response...
