reinstalling windows xp to restore computer to factory settings

Question

i have recently done this and some how i have have ended up with 2 operating systems, ihave to choose one when i turn on my computer one works one doesnt and i am losing 10 gb in the process. any help!!??   its a dell precision m70 by the way

You may have booted to the CD, but you did not delete all the existing partitions. However, if you did, when you boot into XP go to:

Start>run>msconfig and hit enter.

Look for the boot.ini and check all boot paths. One may be invalid. If not, then reinstall with these instrcutions:
