Removing Dell Software from XPS420
I plan to remove a few services and programs from my XPS 420 and just want to know if it will have any bad effect
1. Windows Mobile Device Center services
I don't have any mobile devices, does this service do anything for me?
Is it part of my Bluetooth Keyboard mouse? Where is the software if I need to reinstall?
2 Roxio products.
I plan to remove all the Roxio programs and install my Nero 7 software
Will this affect the Sonic Cineplayer Decoder Pack as I see there is a Roxio Activation Module as part of Roxio.
Is the Sonic Cineplayer Decoder Pack on the Roxio CD if I need to reinstall it?
3. Intel Viiv software
Will removing this have any adverse affects on Media Center? I do not see what it does for my apart from using RAM. If I have to reinstall it appears to be on the Dell site so no biggey, Right?
Is there anything else I should remove to reduce RAM usage and Increase performance?
Thanks

I don't have any mobile devices, does this service do anything for me? Nothing
Is it part of my Bluetooth Keyboard mouse? Where is the software if I need to reinstall? Nothing with those devices.
2 Roxio products.
I plan to remove all the Roxio programs and install my Nero 7 software No problem, Nero is BEST
Will this affect the Sonic Cineplayer Decoder Pack as I see there is a Roxio Activation Module as part of Roxio. No
Is the Sonic Cineplayer Decoder Pack on the Roxio CD if I need to reinstall it? You should received another CD for Sonic Cineplayer, or you can download free decoders to watch DVD movies
3. Intel Viiv software Umm I'd leave it alone...

Is there anything else I should remove to reduce RAM usage and Increase performance? Check startup items on MSCONFIG, not all of the devices are necesary to be running since you turn the computer on...

The Sonic Cineplayer issue has never been resolved in many posts I have read, What CD does it come on? I have looked and cannot find it.
Also the Viiv software, I have installed Vista on other machines and they did not have it. So I don''t think it is needed, just nice to have. Since it is on the Dell site it should be OK to remove.
