Removing Flile that refuses to be removed

In major dire straits here and looking for serious help.

I have a Logitech Express Cam that says it is missing a file whenever I turn on my computer. It does not work at all, however it use to. When I go to remove and add programs I get this as follows on my screen.

The Install Engine (iKernel.exe.) could not be launched. No such interface supported.

Then when I turn on my computer I get this on my screen. Missing files then, ivcd.sys video camera disk is needed. Then says to copy files from C:/programfiles/logitech/qcdrv/winnew/xprs I have no idea what that means.

I have tried reinstall and it tells me to to run startup again. When I put in the disk there is no setup that comes on screen.  Oh and i am using XP.

So if there is anyone out there who can help me, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much

If the setup screen does not come up when you insert the CD, look at the CD's contents in My computer or Windows Explorer, double click on setup.exe (that's the usual name, of course some apps might use a different one such as install.exe). That should launch the setup.

I apologize for the misunderstanding. What comes up after the disk is  put in and starts to install reads exactly as follows:

The Install Shield Wizard Interrupted.

The wizard was interrupted before Logitech Image Studio could completly be installed.

Your system has not been modified. To complete intallation at another time run setup again.

Maybe I misunderstood. When you say it tells you to 'run startup again', do you mean it is telling you to restart your PC? (that is quite common after installing software, so that the changes made in the registry can take effect).

Also, what CD are you inserting? I thought you meant the one that has your Logitech software install on it?

Thank you so much for the help. It is cured. I am one happy lady.

The first link did not help me though. I read it, and it says as follows:

Windows XP contains Window Installer 2.0 and therefore can't be installed or up graded by this redistributable.

The second link however was my lifesaver. It allowed me access to the Set up menu and was able it remove all of Logitech Image or repair damages. Playing it safe I removed it all first and then reinstalled it. Works like a charm.

Thanks so much again for your help.
