Right click too slow
Hello everyone,
I am using Dell laptop, Inspiron. I am running windows xp pro.
Everything is fine with the machine. The only problem is when i right click on a non-executable file like txt, doc or pdf, the it takes 5 - 10 seconds for the right click menu to appear.
And the above problem only exists
when i am connected on the network. If i unplug my network wire then right click functionality becomes normal.
I have tried few options like disabling non-microsoft context menus, or unchecking box automatically search for network folders & printers in winxp folder options.
But the problem is still persisting. Any suggessions ??????
Thanks,
JG

Double click the network icon in the systray and then click on the Properties button. Highlite Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click on Properties. Click on Advanced and then open the WINS tab. Select Disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP.
This will disable file sharing over the LAN however.
