Roxio CD Copier Error Message: "Target medium is not recommended with the current target device."

We have a brand new Dell Dimension XPS Pentium 4 Desktop Computer with what the Dell invoice lists as a "Samsung CD-R/RW SW-252S" CD-ROM Burner and an "_NEC DVD+-RW ND-3450A" DVD-ROM Burner.  We are running Windows XP Professional - Service Pack 2.
 
We are trying to use the Roxio Easy Media Creator 7 "Disk Copy" function to copy a music CD using the "Samsung CD-R/RW SW-252S" CD-Rom drive as both the source and the target drive.  We know we could use the DVD drive as the source drive but for our purposes we prefer to use the CD-ROM drive for both source and target.
 
The disk read works fine.  Once the source disk is read, the program (Roxio Disk Copy) ejects the source disk and asks for the target disk to be inserted.  When that is done, the following error message appears:
 
"Errors occurred during the recording:  The use of the current target medium is not recommended with the current target device."
 
We first returned the blank CD's we bought, thinking they were the culprit.  Not so.  The new blanks get the same error message.  We ARE able to record to this drive using the Sonic RecordNow! Disk Copy program but not the Roxio Disk Copy program, so the problem does appear to be limited to the Roxio software.
 
We have tried to update the firmware for the CD burner but that appears to be current.  Any thoughts / ideas would be greatly appreciated.

What types/brands of CD's are you using or have tried? 

If you are using CD-RW's, try CD-R's (which is what you should use) and see if that makes any difference.  Also, you only need "data" CD-R's, not the higher priced "music" CD-R's if you are copying a music CD.

Although you want to use the single CD drive, have you tried a disk copy, with both drives like most people normally do?  Does the disk copy work that way?

There are some updates on the Roxio Site.  Make sure you have the latest updates for the program.

Thanks so much for the responses to our question.  We upgraded the firmware for the drive using the Dell-provided firmware updater executable and the Samsung-provided firmware update file.  The upgrade then went without a hitch and the Roxio Disk Coper works just fine now.
 
How anyone would have figured this out on their own I don't know.  My attempts to contact Dell tech. support were so frustrating I finally gave up.  SHAME ON YOU DELL for not installing the latest firmware on your systems and for not providing your customers with the method by which to do so themselves !!!  And your telephone access to tech. support is pathetic as well.  You got over $6000.00 from us for this new system.  Never again.  I expect good customer service, not just good prices.
