Try the installation by right clicking on the instalation program and selecting "Run as Administrator". If this works, you strill may have problems with running the program in Vista. Do some Googling on the issue; many people hav eproblems. It appears version 10.0 works better in Vista.

If having problems with running, again "run as administrator"; you can go to compatibility on the properties menu and select the "Run as Administrator" box. As a last resort, set the compatibility to XP.

I have V9 and it works sometimes and somewhat with my Vista.  I don't use much of it because of it being flakey (I mostly use Nero) but I still have a lot of Jewel case liners that I created with Roxio's Label Creator so I need it.  Usually, when I run Label Creator and load a file and then try to load another file I get an "out of memory" error and have to close and restart the Label Creator.  I have a different jewel case liner program and anything new I create with that and eventually I won't need Roxio.  Every version of Roxio (and I've had all the Retail versions since the Adaptec V3) has been buggy and I only keep it for the labels and to have it installed since I do PC support and I have customers with it.

One caution (that I found out the hard way) if you ever decide to uninstall Roxio or uninstall it to do a clean (new) install, do not run the Roxizap cleanup program with Vista.  It will corrupt the registry and you can't even recover from "last known good configuration".  As I said I learned the hard way and fotunately I had a two day old complete hard drive backup with Acronis True Image so I was able to restore the hard drive and didn't lose much.

I have the Retail "Easy Media Creator 9" version, not the LE version that comes with some Dell's.

The Retail Easy Media Creator 9 (full suite of programs) came out about a year or so before Vista.  They now have a V10 which is probably more Vista "friendly".  Since I'm phasing out using Roxio I'm not going to upgrade.
