Roxio Creator & MyDVD 9.0 DE

Hello All,

I have a Dimension E521 running Vista Home Premium. I just went to use the (above) program and notice that I cannot burn a dvd?? When I click on Video all it offers is a suggestion to upgrade. Is there no opton to burn a dvd with this program? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
Len

LenG68,

I don't know if what I have to say is relevant, but I had a similar problem.  My Roxio Creator DE became corrupt Dell sent me the disks for reinstallation.  I noticed that the disks I received were for the LE version but I installed it anyway and was not able to access Video (like you, I was offered an upgrade).  Dell then sent me the DE disks and I uninstalled LE and installed DE but again was offered the upgrade.  It was only after uninstalling and reinstalling DE again was I able to access the full array of features.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Roxio DE?

Hello Sam,

Thank you for your reply. Yes I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice now. Still the same. No video or photo options at all. Just a suggestion to upgrade. I contacted tech support and they say I need to contact Dell on Call, which I believe I will have to pay for. This is very frustrating!

Your problem may be caused by Roxio not being completely uninstalled, even though you uninstalled it. After uninstalling, you should look in windows explorer for any folders that reference Roxio and delete them, also do a search for anything with Roxio in the name and delete what you find. If you have a utility program that will search the registry for references to Roxio, you can use that and again delete anything that it finds. I believe that Microsoft has a utility you can download that will remove left over bits of a program's installer. Finally, I certainly wouldn't pay for Dell support on this--you would do better to put the money toward buying the full version of Roxio Easy Media Creater 9.

I got the above with my new Inspiron thinking it was Easy Media Creater 9.0 (it boots up with the EMC 9.0 logo??). I can burn DVDs, but cannot print DVD labels. There is an option for these labels, but when you select it, it doesn't function. I contacted Roxio and they say I have a "watered down" version of EMC 9.0 and I should contact Dell if I have a problem as they sold/loaded it. I have requested a refund from Dell as I feel they've misrepresented what they sold me. My e-mail request was sent 3 days ago....no response yet...so much for the 6 hour response time? I guess in the future I'll buy all my software seperately....lesson learned? You're correct in that Roxio wants nothing to do with it and Dell charges for software issues on bum software they sell/install...good way to make money, but not future customers?
