Screens won't fully clear after closing a file.

Question

Whenever I close a file a portion of the file stays on the desktop. Subsiquent files or programs cover it, but then leave themselves on the desktop. I run winxp on an old Dell Precision 450. What do I do?

It sounds like a window is not responding (or redrawing itself hence the garbage on the screen).

What program are you using? Do you have other programs running at the same time?

What OS do you have?

I am using Winxp pro. This happens with any and all applications from Solitair to Googlearth. It seems to build with each new application over-writing the previous.

That does sound like a video driver problem as Mary G suggested. Did you look for an update? Peter

I downloaded and installed new vidio drivers........ Problem solved. Thanks folks.
