Look at what you just said "the problem looks like a hardware problem rather then the SW one, but it dissapears when I remove Shareaza...".  Doesn't that answer you own question?

This is precisely what I wanted to say: the simptoms are of a hardware problem rather then of the software one. It is clear that they are caused by Shareasa in some way, I'm just trying to understand how and why - this is my question...
The machine is Dimention 9100, P4 3200, 1GB, Win SP2

I am not insisting that this is a hardware problem, I'm insisting that something makes it looke like it is! When you see blue screen you would normally suspect that there is a HW fault. The question is - again - how and why Shareasa causes it!
It happened on two WIN XP installations on two different disks.

No, the symptoms are of a software problem.  Shareasa is software.  When you remove the software, the problem goes away. Why do you keep insisting that it is a hardware problem? Have you tried reinstalling Shareasa?

Shareasa is causing the problem.  It might make the hardware do something bad, but since it is software that makes it do something, then it is a software problem!!!!!!!  You say that it gives blue screen errors.  What is the full and exact text of the error message(s) on the blue screen?
