SndVol32.exe windows can not execute
I am trying to use Skype. I can see and hear my friend, but she can not see or hear me. Initially both computers worked properly. According to Skype my volume control is muted. Following instructions, I have clicked on the control panel -> volume and audio and then was referred to the add/remove program to add the file sndvol.exe. Then windows says it can not execute sndvol.32. I followed the instructions to connect to microsoft support for help. Microsoft wants to charge me $54.00 dollars to correct the missing or damaged file. Microsoft said that I could have this problem corrected free by Dell. Please help me correct this problem.

Put your CD/DVD windows xp in your cd drive
Click Start
Click Run
Type cmd
Now type your CD/DVD drive's letter
Mine is E
your drives letter is different
Type it like this E:
And hit Enter
Now type cd i386
And hit Enter
Now type expand -r sndvol32.ex_ %systemroot%\system32
Now hit Enter
You should see this screen
Note/1 : If your CD drive is D type the following
D:\I386>expand -r sndvol32.ex_ %systemroot%\system32
Note/2 : there is a space after sndvol32.ex_
Now restart your computer
It should work
Good Luck
