Somewhat off-topic...Dell Forums still not 100% compatible with Firefox

Question

I've noticed these Dell Forums are still not 100% compatible with Firefox, even though the new format has been around for months now. Most specifically, the toolbar menus are missing, and any paragraph indentations you create are gone once you submit your post.

You probably have to put check in 'Automatically convert carriage returns to HTML line breaks' box just above blue 'Submit Post' button. The box uses to be checked by default but isn't for some browsers now. Ron

Similarly, I can't even log in with Firefox. Also, nearly the entire DELL Japan website will not work in Firefox. I don't understand why at all.

Quite a few people use Firefox with this forum, so I'm not sure why you're having problems. Don't know anything about the Japan site. This forum is for US users. Ron

I wouldn't say this site is just for US users, since I've seen posts from people who bought from Dell in parts of Europe and Australia. Even the English support sections in the other country regions at least partly refer you to the US Dell site for drivers and manuals, etc. In any case, there's no forum or support area on the Japanese site that is anywhere near as helpful as this forum, and since the computers are the same it's just easier to ask here than search online in other places for answers.   I still don't know why Firefox acts up from some and not others though, I've checked pretty much everything to make sure the options are right. *shrug*

I'm on Firefox 2.0.0.3 and no matter what I do I can't login. I've checked cookies and permissions and made sure everything is on, and gave specific permissions for this site to be enabled, but it still won't work. Since then I've used IE7 for this site and the Dell websites specifically. Anyone else have the same problem?

Yes, but not regularly, from time to time I have had a tedious connection to the site with all the speed of cold molasses. I put it down to my connection but, since reading this, I reckon that it's Firefox.

The "convert carriage returns to HTML line breaks" tick box in the reply box is by default, unticked, which is an annoyance. I remember that before the latest Firefox update, this was never a problem.

Also URLs appear as plain text, whereas in IE7 they appear live as URLs.

I see from an earlier post (now in the Hijack forum) that there's another problem with Firefox not displaying animated gifs properly - again something that was not present in the previous version.

I feel a bit let down on this one - here's me telling anyone that will listen that Firefox is *the* browser to have, and what happens?
