Sonic / Roxio Uninstalled on Upgrade

Question

I've done a search and couldn't find anything so I assume I made a mistake somewhere.   After I upgraded to Vista on Friday I noticed that I no longer had Sonic / Roxio (or whatever it was called) on my system. I know that the upgrade program uninstalled a number of programs before I installed Vista and I'm thinking that perhaps this was one of them.   I've looked at my CDs that came with my laptop but none appear to have the program.   I was just wondering if there's any way I could get it back?

After the upgrde process, you may put once again the Dell Vista Upgrade Assistant in order to re-install the software you uninstalled before the upgrade to Vista... Did you put the DVD once you were running Vista?

If you didn't get a reinstallation CD with system purchase you can request replacements from Dell. Very common question. Most people did'nt get them for for the Dell versions of Roxio (Sonic).   http://www.dellcommunity.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=vista&thread.id=4820

I try running the upgrade DVD but nothing really happens. It asks me whether I want to continue with netInstall.exe and I click 'allow'... and that's it, nothing further happens.

The DVD itself says to insert before upgrading to Vista, which I did, but nothing about inserting it afterwards, and nor does the manual as far as I can see.

That's correct, according to the instructions, the DVD assistant goes in first it prepares your system for the Vista install, after it does what it has to do you are then instructed to insert Vista DVD. The instructions state that you don't need to reinsert the assistant DVD. It is suppose finish reinstalling after the Vista install but I don't think that's the case all of the time. I've had the Express Vista premium upgrade kit for almost 2 months, it's under the bed where it belongs. XP is running great for me and I'm not about to install problems. Good luck!
