Spell Check in Outlook Express
My new Dell Inspiron 9300 is great, but won't allow me to spell check while in Outlook Express. The message indicates the following -- Spell checking is not available in Outlook Express without a Microsoft Office product installed onto the computer. The option
Spell check e-mail before sending will be grayed out. You must have Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint® installed to check spelling in e-mail in Outlook Express.
You would think Word Perfect (that came with my Dell) would have at minimum spell check capabilities. So do I need to buy more software?

Outlook Express is looking for the spell checker in MS Word. WordPerfect is not a Microsoft product. If you would have purchased MS Office or the MS WorksSuite options you would have have the needed spell checker.
There is a freeware add on spell checker that will work with Outlook Express. I don't have the info on it. Either do a google search or search the MS Works/Office forum section as it's been posted there several times.

WordPerfect does have a spell checking capability, but it is not made by Microsoft, and thus a Microsoft product (OE) is not likely to be looking for it. The freeware product referred to above can be obtained here.
