Startup system memory leak?

I recently got a new Vostro 1500 with Vista Ultimate (2GB RAM / 150GB HDD)

Often when I login, the CPU cores start maxing out at 100%, and the memory usage starts going up constantly until after about 5 mins it gets to around 1.8GB and then the computer gives a blue screen..I assume because its ran out of memory.

When I look in the task manager process list, its the System process that is using all the CPU. I've tried removing things from the startup - i.e., removing items in the registry from HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

I can't see any pattern to whether it happens or not - seems to be random - occurs about 50% of the time.

Thanks

Check this
There's no solution for those, but I "fixed" the problem by installing an updated wireless driver. Maybe doesn't make sence, but after I did that, the problem got fixed, I had the problem with only one core that was a 100%, you can give a try to the wireless update.

Use task manager to see what program or process has the memory leak

mombodog, I checked the Task Manager, showing processes from All Users (actually the Local Service, Network Service, System, because no more users are on my portable system), and none had the CPU so high. But when I turned wireless off, the core went to normal(0 - 5%). Also my problem was only one of the cores working at 100% the other was ok at 0 - 10% depending the task I was doing.
I know about the core 1 was working like that because the gadget for multicore was indicating it.

mombodog: I've checked taskmanager, and none of the listed processes (even for all users) are using the memory.

I don't think this happened before I installed Microsoft Mobile Device Center, but it won't let itself be uninstalled.

GioAguilar: Will try that wireless fix when I get home from work.

Thanks

Resetting the wireless doesn't work. This is getting so annoying. Sometimes the computer works fine. Sometimes it just eats up all the memory and then crashes. Booting with the wireless switched off doesn't make any difference. Going to try disabling different drivers to see what changes, but its hard to tell when the problem randomly happens
