Still waiting since Dec 15, 2006...

I agree! I too have been waiting since December for my upgrade. I registered for the upgrade in February. For a month or longer it showerd PENDING on the order status. Then for the past month or longer, it has shown IN PROCESS. Numerous e-mails requesting additional information from Dell have gone unanswered.

 

Today I call the 800 number to see what the deal is and I get a guy named Abdar from Iraq or somewhere over seas and I cannot understand a thing he says. I guess Dell sent a bunch of good jobs over seas. He has no idea when my upgrade will be shipped. Tells me that there was a problem with some of the upgrade disks,........ well I think thats what he said.

 

So I came here to see if anyone from Dell posted why there is such a big delay in shipping but found nothing. But then why would I? They cant even answer an e-mail. Guess I should have stuck with HP!

Probably you are some unlucky customer who got a Dim E521 /C521 or some XPS system I don't remember now, and i read on a post that those system are going to start receiving the upgrade kit until may, this, to get the DVD with some problems already fixed. I know it's kind of hard to understand, but I think it's better to have somenthing good (or with less problems) than get somwthing with a lot of problems. A friend of mine got a E521 and he's still waiting, I get mine for a E520. Sometimes I found some little problems, but I think it's OK, we can get a SP soon, to correct most of the errors
