stop error code

Question

I'm running winxp on a latitude L400 and whenever I try to start it, it gives me this code: stop: 0x00000004e(0x000000099, 0x000092d5, 0x000000007, 0x00000000). I dont know what this means and this laptop belongs to a neighbor who received it refurbished off ebay so no one has a clue what was done to it nor does it include the recovery disc. Does anyone know what the error code means? forgot to include, at the very top it said PFN_LIST_CORRUPT Message Edited by OuTR on 11-04-2006 01:30 PM

What this means is that the PFN_LIST_CORRUPT bug check has a value of 0x0000004E. This indicates that the page frame number (PFN) list is corrupt. you could just insert a winxp cd and reinstall the os seeing as you just recived it so whats in it dose not matter
