Stupid minor gripe question

I may be picky but for the money I just spent, Im picky.  For some reason when I turn the pc on and that little musical tune that plays when the desktop appears is now jittery and sounds like s----.  Anyone......Anyone??

Try Control Panel , Sounds ....,Change the sound scheme, scroll to Start Windows , click on & try clicking Sounds >  (arrow)  to test if still jiggerty , you can also select another wav by clicking Sounds v , selecting & try Sounds > to see if its also jiggerty.

Lol, you know its kind of funny, its been a "known issue" for two years now, wonder when they will get around to fixing it?  When Longhorn is released?  Mine has never worked correctly since the day I installed XP.  Kip

Whats the fun in doing that?  Half the fun in using a PC is diagnosing problems.  May not be by choice, but, well thats just part of being a PC user.  Kip

Fix something by turning it off?   Wow!  Who would have thought of that!

See if picking a different sound helps (mine has a blackbird singing, much nicer than the XP default; home made .wav file).

Too funny......turn it off.....Customer  "Ya,  I just bought this lincoln navigator and the cruise control isn't working right"......Mechanic  " yep we know all about that,  let me just get my wire cutters to disable that, and I'll tape over the buttons so they wont distract ya".... Customer  "Hey thanks,  thats way better":)

I will try a few of the suggestions here and see what happens.

Thanks all.....Wes

Why ask why......? My startup jingle used to be a bit rough too, but it seems to have corrected itself at some point.

I just tried all the sounds in the control panel and they all work perfectly.  Then when you actually start windows it's jittery.   Strange......I will continue to mess around with this.  Thanks....Wes
