Sudden Power Loss
I have been experiencing a sudden power loss while online. I have Norton anti-virus which is up to date. I have a surge protector and battery backup. The computer comes back on to the desktop immediately with no error message. However, whatever email I was typing is history. I have contacted the server to see if they are doing maintenance. No. They tell me it is caused by software corruption within the operating system. Can anyone help me? I'm not a techie.

Are you saying the PC loses power and then reboots and restarts Windows? Or while you are typing it will lose the current program, such as the e-mail program and goes back to the desktop?, which is not a "power loss" problem. Or you will get knocked off-line (lose your internet connection)?
Please clarify what is happening. Also your PC model number, and Operating system should be included on any initial problem report.

I have the same problem with my dell 8100 it tells me thought that there was an error with one of my device drivers or somthing. I could be right in the middle of something then bam it trys to reboot and then bam nothing. After this I have a problem with getting the computer booted back up why is this? I am not sure if it is a power supply problem or if there is a problem with something else going on.
