svchost.exe (local service)

Hi, Everytime when i start my pc, svchost is using 50% of the CPU. Im wondering why? I have reinstalled windows today and i cant remember that this was happening befor the rinstal either...

on my pc its still using 50% of the CPU. Can you please say the solution here, i dont want to install loads of programs on my fresh installed PC

If it's malware, there is no solution except removing it. But try changing Windows Updater setting from Automatic to Notify Only. Automatic has been known to cause svchost.exe to hog the CPU. You'll still get notified of updates but you'll have to manually go to MS update site to download the updates. That's how I do it.

Open System control panel. Click Automatic Updates tab. Change the setting to Notify. It'll probably nag at you, but just accept it anyway. Reboot.

i changed it to notify before downloading and installing. Hopefully this is the solution. I will post again in a few days to tell if this solves the problem

yes, the problem is solved. The automatic updates are cousing these problems with svchost.exe
